About the role
The University of British Columbia’s Brubacher Laboratory and the Road Safety and Public Health Research Group are seeking a full‑time Research Associate to support and coordinate multiple research projects focused on drug‑impaired driving and toxic drug studies.
Key responsibilities
- Administer day‑to‑day operations of the National Drug Impaired Driving (DID) Study and the Toxic Drug Study.
- Supervise co‑op students and junior research assistants.
- Assist with data interpretation, result dissemination, and preparation of research deliverables.
- Manage procurement, bookkeeping, and project documentation.
- Stay current with empirical research on cannabis, alcohol, and driving, and contribute to the development of new research questions.
Required profile
- Motivated candidate with a strong interest in road safety, public health, and drug toxicology.
- Experience in coordinating research projects and supervising junior staff.
- Ability to interpret scientific data and communicate findings effectively.
- Excellent organizational and bookkeeping skills.

- One‑year fixed‑term appointment with the possibility of renewal.
- Competitive salary range of $76,128–$80,000 CAD per year.
