Operations Supervisor – 3rd Shift

About the role

The Operations Supervisor on the 3rd shift leads the physical handling of mail and small parcels at a DHL eCommerce Distribution Center. You will ensure that all processes meet customer and internal requirements while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assign work, set completion dates, review output and manage performance according to DHL policies.
• Supervise mail/small‑parcel processing, quality control and transportation to achieve optimal profitability.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels, monitor attendance and time management.
• Conduct performance reviews, coach and train team members.
• Ensure equipment operates correctly and meets production standards.
• Track productivity, KPI and quality metrics; take corrective actions when targets are missed.
• Recommend improvements to production methods, working conditions and efficiencies.
• Oversee safety compliance, including bi‑annual safety training.
• Support recruitment and act as liaison with on‑site postal clerks.
• Stay updated on postal rate and regulatory changes.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with at least 2 years of external supervisory experience, or 1 year of DHL eCommerce Operations Trainer/Quality experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a distribution, mail or similar environment.
• Knowledge of operations quality and safety programs.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, understanding of small‑parcel logistics, experience with process‑improvement tools such as 5S, and a proven record of driving production standards and automation.
