Description
Position: Information Communication and Technology Officer
Contract: 1-year renewable contract Location: Yola
DUTIES:
Install and ensure the proper functioning of the voice network (IP PBX).
Monitor internet system operation to detect potential problems.
Install, upgrade, and maintain all LAN items, support LANs &WANs, network segments, internet, and intranet systems.
Maintain system efficiency, ensure system design, and allow all its components to work correctly.
Configure and install systems and set up new users.
Set up projectors, printers, photocopiers, digital cameras, etc., for everyday office use and as necessary for meetings.
Troubleshoot technical problems with mobile subscriptions and IP phones.
Ensure satellite phones are working and SIM cards are activated at all times.
Ensure good asset management of ICT equipment at the offices and update the asset register and inventory tracking system with the Logistics and Administrative Officer.
Set up/configure new user E-mail, install antivirus, and maintain its upgrade with staff.
Ensure availability of LAN for all offices, and determine platform, interface, and bandwidth needs.
Install and troubleshoot all hardware problems following designs or installation specifications and resolve IT issues for staff remotely and on Mac, Windows, and Linux OS.
Oversee the issuance and return of assets to/from staff and record all asset movements and disposal of ICT equipment
Make recommendations for future upgrades of network systems, equipment/gadget.
Maintained network management platform and ensured LAN security integrity and system security, providing frequent software updates, antivirus updates, and patches.
Coordinate and monitor surveillance equipment; IDS, CCTV, alarms, smoke detectors, and access control.
Support the FSC to design, implement, and maintain security protocols, policies, plans, and systems to cover all possible security threats.
Support in facilitating training and induction of new staff.
Implement/Automate security strategies as directed by the FSC
Support in running risk assessment and security tests and designing countermeasures to eliminate as many potential risks as possible.
Ensure that communication tools and equipment are functioning correctly.
Support the development of newsletters, websites, and social media content.
Support staff in information management to properly implement policies such as GDI, PAR exercise etc.
Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
BSc/HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with a minimum of five (5) years performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.
COMPETENCIES:
The ideal candidate must:
Have good communication skills (writing, reading, and speaking).
Have good knowledge of software handling.
Have the ability to handle minor hardware repairs.
Have good knowledge of LANs and WANs, network segments, and internet and intranet systems.
Have good understanding of power backup systems (Inverters, batteries), Voltages, alternating and Direct Current and earthing.
Understand security equipment installation and maintenance (CCTV, access control, IDS, etc.).
