You’ll provide advice, guidance, and support for key engagement and communications activities. With attention to detail being the hallmark of communications, the person in this role will build a consistent approach across the Customer Unit Western Europe working with the MELA Communications community to deliver high-quality, creatively robust content and messaging which is relevant to our current and future employees, You’ll not only help shape our engagement strategy, you’ll also get hands-on – delivering digital communications, campaigns, and events the engage and inspire. You’ll use measurement and insight to guide stakeholders on best-practice and continuously improve how you deliver our employee engagement activities. Better still, you’ll be part of a community of employee engagement professionals that stretches across Europe and Latin America. Together we’ll share experiences, ideas, and insight – so whilst much of this role will be about local execution of our employee engagement and internal communications strategy, you’ll also have the opportunity to use your local insight to shape our strategy and push the boundaries.
This role will give you the opportunity to stretch into a variety of different engagement and internal communications disciplines. From change communications to digital campaigns, and from the written word to in-person events. You’ll need likely have a good background in one of the areas, with a strong desire to learn more and develop your skills across all of the key competencies for internal communicators.
You’ll support a large number of countries. So, expect to deal with a wide variety of cultures, social norms, and languages. To be successful, you’ll need to be passionate about understanding people and able to turn this understanding into insight that allows you to champion employee voice and tailor your approach to deliver maximum impact at the local level.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic person as the Employee Engagement Manager for Ericsson Business Area Customer Unit Western Europe in the Market Area Europe & Latin America (MELA). You will play a key role in creating internal communication and engagement around our employee value proposition and contributing to Ericsson being perceived as the technology leader, preferred employer, employer of choice, and partner to empower the connected world.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will be working closely with Ericsson MELA business leaders, the Marketing and Communications teams and the People function. You will work on a strategic level, as well as hands-on with the organization and thinking creatively to develop, implement and continuously evaluate and improve the communications outputs in various channels.

In this role you can expect to:
Developing and driving employee engagement and communication strategies, narratives, and campaign activations to support the objectives for employee experience in an aligned, consistent way across MELA and the global organization
Stay on top of driving topics of the company and create and implement strategies how to position these, ie. Sustainability, integrity, compliance
Developing and implementing communication plans to positively impact employee engagement in the organization
Providing strategic advisory to Ericsson Executives and implement it (including i.e. video creation, posting on various channels)
Use your knowledge of the local teams, countries, and cultures to adapt and deliver our key strategic internal communications and engagement campaigns
Develop and create compelling content across all forms of media. Including written, video, graphics, podcasts, and more. Be creative!
Building close relationships with the Marketing and Communications team in MELA and Global. Developing and cultivating internal relationships, Driving innovation and experimentation in employee advocacy, creating room to collaborate
Analysing audiences, channels, stakeholders, and influencers
Support our fact-based and insight-led approach to engagement by running regular listening and feedback sessions with colleagues in your customer unit so that we can really understand how they’re feeling and how effective our communications have been
Be a keen collaborator – actively sharing insight, experience, and materials with the rest of the employee engagement community so that we can learn and grow together
Continuously develop your knowledge of employee engagement and communications best practices from across the profession and actively share that insight with others
To be successful in the role you have:
University degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent training/experience
7+ years of working experience
Experience working in global organizations in the areas of human resources, employee experience, branding, IT, and infrastructure, with the ability to develop and implement compelling communication strategies with tangible results in areas of Agile Transformation, Automation & Industrialization, Occupational Health & Safety
Cultivating a Challenger Mindset
Knowledge in Communication is a must, preferred is experience in internal communication or employee engagement
Demonstrated experience in change communication and employee engagement and proven track record of excellent stakeholder management
Experience leading and coordinating different teams to deliver results globally in a coordinated aligned way
Ability to collaborate in a virtual environment and scale out local communications campaigns developed centrally in Ericsson headquarters and in Market Area Europe & Latin America
Excellent writing skills to apply our tone of voice across a range of channels including executives´ memos, employee newsletters, and guides
Strong strategic orientation and creative mindset with the ability to look ahead of the curve, understand our employees’ requirements and act in order to add value.
Continuously identify initiatives required to execute our strategy effectively
Solid understanding of storytelling techniques, change communications, and behavioral psychology (Bias, influencing, decision-making, and belief systems)
Excellent stakeholder management. You can understand the needs of a variety of stakeholders and identify the opportunities to collaborate or iterate to create the best possible outcomes. You’ll also be comfortable saying no or recommending a different plan of action when requests don’t align with our strategy
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Full proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken
