Turnaround Assistant

About the role

The Turnaround Assistant ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all maintenance activities during plant turnarounds and shutdowns. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the role acts as the critical bridge between Operations and Maintenance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Permit-to-Work (PTW) Management
• Isolation & Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Assurance
• Confined Space Safety oversight
• Line Breaking / First Break Control
• Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) Management
• High‑Risk Work Oversight
• Process Safety & Chemical Awareness
• Field Coordination & Operational Support

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in refineries or petrochemical plants
• Strong knowledge of refinery processes and equipment systems
• Deep understanding of process safety and hazard management
• High situational awareness and risk assessment capability
• Effective communication across disciplines
• Ability to make critical safety decisions under pressure
• WSQ Supervise Workplace Safety and Health in Process Plant (mandatory)
• Confined Space Safety Assessor Certification (mandatory)
• Manage Work at Height Certificate (mandatory)
• Proven experience in turnaround/shutdown execution
• Willingness to work a 6‑month contract
