Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Primary Initial Teacher Education

About the role

Auckland University of Technology is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join its School of Education. This permanent, full‑time position will be based at either the Akoranga or Manukau campus and focuses on Primary Initial Teacher Education.

Key responsibilities

• Teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Initial Teacher Education.
• Visit and assess student teachers on practicum placements.
• Develop and continuously improve curricula, courses and digital learning resources.
• Conduct and publish research in education, particularly in primary teaching and related learning areas.
• Contribute to the School’s service and academic citizenship activities.

Required profile

• Current registration with the New Zealand Teaching Council.
• Professional experience teaching in primary education.
• Demonstrated ability to teach social sciences, science or technology learning areas (advantageous).
• Commitment to practice‑led, research‑informed teaching.
• Willingness to work 37.5 hours per week on campus.
