International Consultant – Child Protection in Schools (6‑month contract)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an International Consultant to provide technical leadership for the design and quality assurance of child protection interventions within the education system of São Tomé and Príncipe. The consultant will work remotely, collaborating closely with UNICEF, MECCES and a National Consultant to translate national SOPs into practical, school‑based mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Review national child‑protection frameworks and SOPs and define a technical roadmap aligned with field realities.
• Develop a structured training strategy and modular Training‑of‑Trainers (ToT) curriculum covering prevention, risk identification, ethical response, gender equality and safeguarding.
• Design simple, standardized guidance for school child‑protection committees and focal points, including reporting and referral procedures.
• Provide quality assurance, monitor deliverables and ensure alignment with UNICEF and MECCES standards throughout the 5‑month implementation phase.

Required profile

• Proven experience in child‑protection or education consultancy at national or international level.
• Demonstrated ability to design technical tools, training materials and SOP‑based guidance.
• Strong coordination skills for remote collaboration with multilateral partners.
