Healthcare Materials Manager

About the role

The Materials Manager ensures that the surgical center has the right supplies, equipment, and materials available to support daily operations. This role combines inventory oversight, cost‑control, and collaboration with clinical staff to maintain seamless patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials for the surgical center.
• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, distribute items, track backorders, and prepare documentation for leadership.
• Manage and maintain automated inventory‑tracking systems.
• Lead physical inventory counts and complete required reporting.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities, conduct cost analyses, and support product trials.
• Source pricing and quotes for medical supplies and equipment, ensuring procurement compliance.
• Coordinate repair or replacement of damaged equipment to minimize disruption.
• Communicate operational updates regularly with leadership and the Administrator.
• Provide additional support, including assisting in the operating room when needed.

Required profile

• High school graduate or Certified Surgical Tech.
• At least 6 months of materials management experience in an operating‑room setting.
• Orthopedic experience preferred.
• Strong computer and organizational abilities.
