Facilities Mechanical Engineer – HVAC & Utilities

About the role

The Facilities Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and optimisation of mechanical plant systems within a semiconductor manufacturing site in Woodlands. You will lead preventive and corrective activities, support upgrades and ensure compliance with local safety and fire regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air handling units, fan coil units, ventilation systems and compressors.
• Perform troubleshooting, vibration checks, flow and pressure testing, and detailed mechanical diagnostics.
• Execute preventive, corrective and condition‑based maintenance programmes using a CMMS and update work orders.
• Support shutdowns, retrofits, system upgrades and testing & commissioning of new equipment.
• Maintain mechanical drawings, O&M records, reports and asset documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, tenants and internal facilities teams.
• Ensure compliance with SCDF Fire Code, WSH regulations and local mechanical standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in aviation, commercial, industrial or mission‑critical facilities, preferably within a semiconductor environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical plant equipment.

Required skills

• HVAC systems (chillers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation, compressors).
• Mechanical diagnostics, vibration analysis, flow and pressure testing.
• CMMS and BMS operation.
• Understanding of SCDF Fire Code and WSH safety regulations.
