Bare Developer – C & JavaScript (Remote, Worldwide)

About the role

We are looking for a Bare Developer who is equally comfortable writing C and JavaScript. You will join the Bare team that builds and maintains the runtime and a growing ecosystem of native modules, enabling platform APIs to be accessed from JavaScript.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain the core runtime written in C.
• Develop native addons that bridge platform APIs into JavaScript.
• Contribute to native modules such as bare‑bluetooth, bare‑tcp, bare‑fs, and bare‑crypto.
• Debug, profile and optimise performance of both C and JavaScript components.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team using English as the primary language.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in both C and JavaScript programming.
• Experience building native addons or extensions for JavaScript runtimes.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
