Assistant Director of Operations – Student Financial Services

About the role

The Assistant Director of Operations, Student Financial Services will lead the operations team responsible for delivering financial aid and maintaining system integrity. This position supports the department’s strategic vision, oversees daily processes, and drives continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to set vision, goals, and data‑driven priorities for operations staff.
• Identify system enhancements, monitor integrity, and participate in testing and implementation of student information systems related to financial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and partner regulations and recommend policy or process changes.
• Supervise daily operations staff, provide training, and act as the primary contact for system troubleshooting.
• Review and analyze variance, reconciliation, and reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Perform reconciliations and data analysis to support financial aid operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Five or more years of related experience in financial aid, scholarship administration, or related operations.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and university scholarship and financial aid regulations.
• Understanding of analytical and accounting principles.
• Strong interpersonal and supervisory abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and prioritize tasks effectively.
