About the role

GrowthAssistant is seeking a seasoned YouTube Thumbnail Designer & Video Editor to become the visual architect of its YouTube content engine. This remote position requires a proactive storyteller who can craft high‑converting thumbnails and edit raw interview footage into engaging narratives that drive clicks and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Design high‑performing YouTube thumbnails using expert layout, lighting, color theory, and composition.
• Execute advanced image manipulation, including precise cutouts, complex compositing, and background cleanup.
• Review raw footage independently, identify core messages, and edit them into compelling "hook → value → payoff" narratives.
• Perform seamless jump cuts, strategic zooms, and add visual aids to maintain viewer attention.
• Convert long‑form interviews into high‑retention vertical clips (Shorts, Reels) with platform‑specific formatting.
• Add professional lower‑thirds, text overlays, and basic motion graphics.
• Balance audio levels and create accurate captions for accessibility.
• Maintain organized project files and media libraries for smooth team collaboration.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of visual psychology and current YouTube packaging trends to maximize click‑through rates.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (or Canva) with a portfolio showcasing advanced compositing and color correction.
• Strong command of Descript, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro.
• Proven ability to edit raw footage into engaging content without extensive guidance.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and disciplined file‑management habits.
