About the role

Whole Heart Publishing is seeking a Story Development Lead to shape romance titles from concept to completion. You will guide writers and editors, ensuring each story delivers a compelling emotional arc and resonates with readers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of multiple romance manuscripts, overseeing narrative structure, character arcs, and emotional payoff.
• Collaborate closely with writers and editors, providing clear, actionable feedback at every stage.
• Identify and resolve pacing, structural, or emotional gaps to keep stories on track.
• Maintain project timelines, track progress, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Utilize AI‑powered tools to support ideation and workflow efficiency while retaining creative control.
