About the role
We are looking for a Simulation Engineer specialized in power electronics reliability to join Bosch’s international development network. You will drive the standardisation and continuous improvement of simulation methods for power electronics components and control units, ensuring efficient and robust virtual engineering across multiple locations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and standardise simulation methods for power electronics components and control units, focusing on efficiency and accuracy.
- Act as a key interface within the global development network, aligning methodologies and sharing knowledge across Germany, Hungary, China, and India.
- Collaborate with Design for Reliability engineers to evaluate device and system concepts in early development phases.
- Select and apply appropriate virtual methods and tools, including FEM and data‑driven techniques, to identify optimal design solutions.
- Apply physics‑of‑failure concepts, support lifetime modelling and durability assessments, and master damage mechanisms.
- Enhance simulation methods using data analytics, data mining, and machine learning.
- Document and present simulation results to multidisciplinary project teams.
Required profile
- Strong analytical skills combined with deep physical understanding and practical engineering relevance.
- Curiosity, openness to innovation, and a drive to continuously improve methods and tools.
- Structured, quality‑oriented work style with responsibility for results.
- Ability to collaborate in international, interdisciplinary teams and share knowledge actively.
Required skills
- Master’s degree in Computational Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field.
- Hands‑on experience with structural mechanics and thermal sciences.
- Proficiency in modelling and simulation tools such as ANSYS and FEM.
- Experience with data analytics, data mining, and machine learning applied to simulation.
- Knowledge of physics‑of‑failure concepts, lifetime modelling and durability assessment.
