Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel is a strategic position within the Legal Department, responsible for managing contractual and commercial legal matters for the company in Brazil. The role focuses on client contracts—including public sector and state‑owned entities—and supplier agreements, ensuring they align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on commercial and contractual issues to Sales, Finance, Operations, and Procurement.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex service sale contracts, especially with governmental or majority‑state clients.
• Maintain consistency between customer sale terms and supplier purchase terms.
• Lead high‑complexity negotiations to secure balanced, favorable conditions for the company.
• Manage contract templates, best‑practice negotiation guidelines, and the full contract lifecycle, including renewals, liability limits, SLAs, and penalties.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, contractual, regulatory, and financial risks in new or renewed operations.
• Drive end‑to‑end process improvements for sales and procurement contracting and support the implementation of contract management systems.

Required profile

• Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent).
• Post‑graduate specialization or master’s in Commercial/Contract Law (preferred, not mandatory).
• Advanced proficiency in English and Portuguese (or Spanish, depending on location).
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in contract management, corporate legal advisory, or legal consultancy.
• Preferable experience in the Telecommunications or Technology industry.
• Strong expertise in negotiating and managing critical clauses such as SLAs, liability limits, indemnities, and penalty provisions.
