Senior Environmental Specialist

About the role

SMEC, a member of the Surbana Jurong Group, is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to lead environmental compliance and monitoring for a major roads, highways, tunnels and bridge infrastructure project. The role will support the project from the expression of interest stage through potential award.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor environmental performance across construction activities.
• Implement environmental management plans and mitigation measures.
• Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project requirements.
• Support coordination with stakeholders and authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in environmental monitoring and compliance.
• Experience with Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and environmental management systems.
• Exposure to IFI projects is preferred.
