Senior Cost Management Lead

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking a Senior Cost Management Lead to join the Turnkey and Operations Finance team. Reporting to the Cost Performance Management Director, you will standardise cost practices, support project teams and mentor junior staff across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of CPM in creating and maintaining Cost Standards and Guidelines in GEMS.
• Initiate and run the SBM Offshore ‘Cost Community of Practice’ forum.
• Participate in Project Health Checks and cost/project control assurance reviews for execution and operations.
• Provide lead support to project teams as required, acting as Lead Cost Engineer on interim assignments.
• Liaise with digital teams to improve cost management tools.
• Support and mentor junior or new team members.
• Contribute to lessons‑learned documentation.

Required profile

• HNC or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration or related field; MSc, MBA or certifications (AACE, PMP) highly desirable.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Cost Engineering/Control within a tier‑1 EPC contractor or operator in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
• Proven project‑lead experience and strong functional competencies in cost control, budgeting, forecasting, project cost management, contractual/commercial matters, analytics, cash and invoice management.
