Refugee Services Caseworker

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a compassionate Caseworker to provide trauma-informed services to refugees and eligible immigrants, helping them achieve self-sufficiency and a successful resettlement experience.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized self-sufficiency plans with clear timelines and goals.
• Provide direct services, referrals, and advocacy to assist clients in accessing housing, healthcare, education, employment, and other essential resources.
• Monitor client progress, adjust service plans as needed, and ensure goal attainment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all client interactions and input data into relevant databases for reporting.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate services and build a strong network of community resources.
• Use personal or public transportation to travel within the service area for client visits and material transport.
• Train and supervise volunteers and interns as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in human services, preferably with refugee or immigrant populations.
• Strong relationship-building, diplomacy, and networking abilities.

Required skills

• Ability to conduct comprehensive intake assessments.
• Proficiency in case management documentation and database entry.
• Experience providing referrals and advocacy across housing, health, education, and employment services.
