Quality Assessor – Night Shift (Secondary Butchery)

About the role

As a Quality Assessor at Silver Fern Farms' Te Aroha site, you will help maintain the highest standards of product quality and regulatory compliance for our meat processing operations. Working the night shift, you will support the secondary butchery team by implementing and monitoring quality systems that meet customer and statutory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out quality inspections and audits to verify compliance with customer, regulatory and company standards.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of quality systems across production areas.
• Monitor and report on product and process performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with Production and Technical teams to ensure consistent application of quality procedures.
• Provide feedback, coaching and support to promote a quality‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Process Control, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Qualification in Biological Science or Food Technology is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to balance production and quality needs.
