About the role
The Quality and Labour Supervisor supports the vineyards operations and technical services teams to maintain regional standards for canopy management and contract labour activities across Vinarchy’s corporate vineyards in Marlborough. The role focuses on day‑to‑day quality assurance, data collection, work planning and disease monitoring.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out vineyard tasks safely and efficiently, following viticultural best practice.
- Monitor pests and diseases, conduct summer and winter vine training, and assess pruning and wrapping quality.
- Perform hand‑harvest quality checks, yield monitoring, grape sampling, and evaluate bud rubbing, wire lifting, shoot thinning, crop thinning, and leaf plucking.
- Plant vines, collect soil and leaf samples, and assess canopy sprayer efficacy using spray papers.
- Plan work schedules, solve simple operational problems, maintain activity diaries, and report data as required.
- Assist management and team members to achieve quality and yield targets, and provide support to other regional vineyards when needed.

- Ability to plan and organise work efficiently.
- Problem‑solving skills for routine vineyard issues.
- Commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental (QSE) standards.
- Team‑oriented attitude with a focus on cooperation and continuous learning.
