Project Officer, Marine – São Tomé & Príncipe

About the role

We are looking for a qualified, Portuguese‑speaking Project Officer to join our marine conservation team on the island of Príncipe. You will support the delivery of an ambitious project focused on establishing marine protected areas (MPAs) and fostering community co‑management across São Tomé & Príncipe.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative and technical support to ensure smooth project implementation.
• Assist in the planning, establishment, and monitoring of MPAs.
• Facilitate community engagement and co‑management initiatives.
• Support capacity‑building activities for the FP team and consortium partners.
• Coordinate regular travel between Príncipe and São Tomé for field work and meetings.

Required profile

• Fluent in Portuguese with excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Master’s degree in marine ecology, biodiversity conservation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in marine ecology or biodiversity conservation projects.
• Collaborative team player comfortable working in a remote, dynamic environment.
