Procurement Associate – Rwanda

About the role

One Acre Fund is looking for a Procurement Associate to lead and strengthen procurement operations for its Rwanda program. The role will focus on sourcing efficiently, delivering cost savings, and ensuring compliance while building a high‑performing team. The position reports to senior leadership and works closely with the government and agri‑SMEs to support national food‑security goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a multi‑level procurement team, setting clear expectations and addressing skill gaps.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and services that meet quality, specification and cost targets.
• Maintain accurate procurement data and documentation across all systems and coordinate quality‑assurance activities.
• Drive cost‑saving initiatives, strategic sourcing and supplier optimisation in partnership with internal stakeholders.
• Partner with internal teams to optimise spend, consolidate demand and improve purchasing decisions.
• Review, improve and standardise procurement processes, policies and controls to enhance efficiency, transparency and compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing procurement functions and leading teams.
• Strong ability to identify skill gaps and support continuous professional development.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering cost‑effective procurement and strategic sourcing projects.
• Excellent understanding of procurement governance, risk management and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government agencies and agribusiness partners.
