About the role
Saint Louis University is seeking a Patient Coordinator‑Dental Assistant to deliver exemplary patient care and support dentists across multiple clinical disciplines. The role combines patient interaction, clinical preparation, and hands‑on assistance during examinations and treatments.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare operatories, instrument trays, and materials for a variety of dental procedures.
- Assist dentists using four‑handed dentistry techniques and provide imaging services.
- Perform periodontal charting and educate patients on oral hygiene.
- Maintain strict infection‑control protocols, sterilize equipment, and dispose of biohazard waste safely.
- Review daily schedules to ensure proper preparation for each discipline.
- Collaborate professionally with faculty, residents, and the dental team.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least six months of experience or training as a dental assistant.
- Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
