About the role
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic partner and internal advisor for assigned business units, driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, talent management and culture.
Key responsibilities
- Partner proactively with leaders to identify strategic people issues and develop short‑term and long‑term solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Provide confidential advice, coaching and guidance on complex HR matters while ensuring compliance with Holt Renfrew policies, Employment Standards and human rights legislation.
- Stay current on emerging HR trends and collaborate with peers to keep policies competitive.
- Work with People Centres of Expertise to deliver programs in talent acquisition, development, succession planning, leadership development, performance management, compensation, rewards, and organisational design.
- Facilitate training initiatives, including onboarding and leadership development programs.
- Support employee engagement through surveys, focus groups, the Employee Voice Council and action‑planning processes.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to attract and hire top talent, coordinate recruitment events and manage the hiring process.
- Conduct investigations and resolve sensitive employee issues in line with established policies.
Required profile
- Experience acting as an HR business partner or internal advisor within a dynamic organization.
- Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights requirements and corporate HR policies.
- Ability to influence and coach senior leaders on people strategies.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and staying abreast of HR best practices.
