Summary
VillageReach invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Senior Manager – Research, Evidence & Learning, based in Lagos, Nigeria. This position will support implementation research to evaluate telehealth models to extend access and improve pathways to primary healthcare (PHC) for underserved populations in Lagos, including women and people with lower socioeconomic status. Ideal candidates are experienced in managing qualitative research projects across multiple sites and are skilled in managing relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including government, private sector, partners and academia.
Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.
Support the development and submission of research protocols in coordination with implementing partner based in Nigeria and VillageReach colleagues based globally, including finalization of qualitative and participatory data collection methodologies, sampling strategies, and data collection tools
In coordination with the implementing partner team, ensure fidelity to approved research protocols, including rigorous data collection practices, and support proactive, day-to-day troubleshooting to ensure high-quality qualitative and quantitative data is collected in a timely manner
Lead qualitative data analysis and synthesis for reporting and data use in implementation research based on agreed upon conceptual frameworks
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for improvement in program design based upon a detailed understanding of the data
Advise the consortium on best practices in implementation research and qualitative research
Serve as the primary point of contact for VillageReach colleagues providing technical support to the consortium conducting implementation research on equitable telehealth models

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education & Experience:
A masters’ degree in public health, social sciences or similar field is required; a doctorate is preferred.
At least ten years of experience in qualitative research, implementation research, human centered design, health research or similar field.
Experience conducting rigorous qualitative research with underserved populations, including women and people with lower socioeconomic status.
Experience with research on digital health and/or primary health care delivery.
Experience conducting qualitative data analysis using Atlas.ti or other software and presenting results, demonstrated through report or presentation samples.
Experience facilitating the identification of actionable recommendations for program improvement based on data.
Other Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication abilities and ability to synthesize and deliver information to diverse audiences in a clear and concise way. Routine sharing of research results and recommendations with Ministry of Health and private sector stakeholders will be part of this role.
Experience with managing research projects, including following workplans, facilitating team meetings, training data collectors, and working with team members to ensure deliverables are met.
Experience working with geographically dispersed teams, including across multiple time zones.
Ability to work independently with little direct oversight while still maintaining high quality of work.
Ability to think strategically around the implications of research findings.
Established cultural competency in partnering with racial, cultural and linguistically diverse groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and comfortable in a fast-paced technical environment.
Fluency in English required.

Benefits
Compensation:
VillageReach has an established compensation structure that is based on the relevant market and internally transparent. The range for this position is $74,300 - $90,000 USD. We hire people into the established range based on one’s experience and education and considering internal equity. We do not inquire about salary history.
