About this Opportunity
With over three years as an established Ericsson Production Site in the US, the Production team is looking to expand our internal improvement and support functions. The Production Performance Leader works hand-in-hand with the Area Managers to coordinate and implement various short- and medium-term improvement activities impacting production equipment, workflows, systems, and operators. This role will monitor and analyze production data, define problems, gather inputs, and propose and implement solutions to improve production on a continuous basis. The Production Performance Leader will take a hands-on role on the Production floor responding to the needs and ideas of operators.
Additionally, the Production Performance Leader is key as the primary collaboration point for other departments within the Smart Factory. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain a backlog and help prioritize the needs of Production to and from groups such as Engineering, Operational Efficiency, and Industry 4.0.
What you will do
Analyze
Develop deep understanding and ownership of all production-related metrics
Own production performance systems such as Evocon, our OEE tracking solution
Define, create, refine, and maintain dashboards to monitor and improve Production in collaboration with Industry 4.0 team
Monitor production lead times and manage timely closure of production orders
Improve
Define production issues, make proposals, and take responsibility for solving issues with short- and medium-term levels of effort and high contact with the production floor
Collaborate with Local Process Architects on long-term and globally scoped issues
Drive continuous improvement directly and through collaboration with supporting functions within the factory
Respond rapidly to operators' ideas and requests via Kaizen suggestion box or similar means
Develop metrics baselines, set improvement targets, and follow through with shift structure to improve efficiency, performance, and accuracy-related metrics via regular Production Performance Reviews
Complete change requests, process mapping, and normative guidance to direct workflows within, into, and out of production
Develop and own the production 5S program and standards
Connect
Collaborate as needed with Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Troubleshoot/Repair, Process and Compliance, and Performance and Transformation teams
Act of primary point of contact for process or improvement-related questions or projects from Industry 4.0 or other teams
Manage and improve workflows between departments on the production floor such as Troubleshoot/Repair and Warehouse
Ensure processes are prepared in advance of regular audits
Ensure timely closure of audit findings
Promote, understand, and strictly adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality guidelines without deviation.
You will bring
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or master’s degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, or related field
1-5 years of experience in a telecommunications or electronics manufacturing environment
Continuous process improvement experience
Experience mapping physical processes to systematic processes
Strong communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a highly diverse, fast-paced, and constantly evolving work environment
Ideal Qualifications
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
Knowledge of Six Sigma
Solid understanding of applying 5S principles within a production environment
Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, ideally SAP
Experience using Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ideally DELMIA Apriso
Familiarity with ISO certification standards and process, especially 9001, 14001, 27001, and 45001
This role reports to the Production Manager
