Oversee the plan and design for nodes, sites, and links within the Metro Core Aggregation domain of the Transport Network (IP Aggregation/IPRAN/CTN). Ensure ongoing development to cater for new initiatives in the organization’s business plan.
Maintains capacity and functionality requirements timely and ahead of traffic within the Metro Core Aggregation domain of the Transport Network.
Oversees the issues relating to resource requirements to complete critical design, planning, and process tasks.
Interface with the PS Core network, IT/S Team, IP Network operations, and ENS for the planning of the Metro Core Aggregation domain’s capacity planning and allocation for efficient transport of all internal and external customer data traffic.
Oversee plan, deploy, and evolve quality and class of service techniques in the Metro Core Aggregation domain.
Supervise all integration events, approve work orders, and control project processes for capacity expansion, node integration, and/or new service introduction within the Metro Core Aggregation segment of the Transport Network (IP Aggregation/IPRAN/CTN).
Conduct weekly and monthly network performance monitoring, trend analyses, capacity planning, and expansion in line with network growth trends and increases in all traffic and services.
Ensure performance and optimization inputs are reflected in new designs and configurations to ensure alignment with performance strategy and KPIs within the Metro Core Aggregation segment of the Transport Network (IP Aggregation, IPRAN, and CTN).
Define a reference architecture (IT and telecoms) to ensure efficiency and optimal performance of the domain.
Obtain inputs and validate the reference architecture with key MTN partners within the Metro Core Aggregation domain of the Transport Network (IP Aggregation/IPRAN/CTN).
Evaluate and manage outsourced or third-party technologies and hosting environments to ensure they provide adequate protection for the processing, transmission, and storage of MTN’s information.
Integration of designs into enterprise solutions such as response, monitoring, authentication, compliance, etc.
Provide periodic feedback to management about projects and programs within the Metro Core Aggregation segment of the transport network.
Coach and train the team to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets and requirements, and regular review of their training needs.
