Busara is a leading behavioral science organization in the Global South, where we apply behavioral science to help alleviate poverty through advisory work and original academic research.
We are a non-profit organization based in Nairobi, Kenya, and have offices and projects across the Global South. We also run the most extensive behavioral science research lab in the world, including mobile labs and partnerships with universities worldwide.

Busara: Organization Summary

Busara is a research and advisory firm dedicated to advancing and applying behavioral science in the pursuit of poverty alleviation. Busara applies rigorous research methods and evaluation tools to enable partners to improve program design, assess existing interventions, and optimize internal processes. We work with governments, NGOs, private companies and academics to understand human behavior, and design solutions to overcome behavioral barriers to products, programs, and policies as they scale.

Busara operates from its permanent offices in Kenya, Nigeria, India, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Tanzania, and has worked on projects with partners internationally. We have launched a new strategy to expand our work globally, signed new projects across Africa, South Asia and South America all in pursuit of our twin missions of advancing behavioral science and alleviating poverty as we strive to bridge the gap between research and application. We have worked on projects related to agriculture, financial inclusion, savings, inequality, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and other questions central to development economics.
We currently have 69 active projects, 112 completed projects, 36 academic affiliations, 5 operational decision labs, and 120 full-time staff.

Busara Center for Behavioral Economics (Busara) welcomes submissions for Expressions of Interest to consultants who specialize in Cyber Security Consulting at an advanced level, for purposes of reviewing our network and systems' exposure; identifying and evaluating our security risks and making recommendations for solutions and what we need to improve generally. We believe this is a good opportunity for someone who is looking at advancing their career in the Cyber Security space in a positive and professional environment.

The consultant will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive review of our company's existing security measures, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and providing actionable and automatable recommendations for improving our overall security posture. Additionally, they would be tasked with safeguarding our digital assets and ensuring the protection of sensitive information from potential cyber threats as well as establishing a governance framework for information security to provide assurance that information security strategies are consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
