About the role
The Mental Health Director provides senior clinical and programmatic leadership for Partners In Health’s Mental Health Program in Rwanda. Reporting to the Head of Division for Clinical Programs, the Director ensures high‑quality, patient‑centered mental health services across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities
- Lead clinical services for mental health and neurological conditions across hospitals, health centers, and community sites.
- Develop, disseminate, and implement evidence‑based clinical guidelines, care pathways, and SOPs.
- Oversee quality of pharmacological, psychological, and psychosocial interventions, including psychotherapy and psychopharmacology.
- Champion patient safety, manage psychiatric emergencies, and promote dignity‑centered care.
- Provide direct mentorship and supervision to senior mental health clinicians and program managers.
- Drive quality‑improvement initiatives and support systems strengthening at facility and national levels.
Required profile
- Extensive clinical expertise in mental health, including psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.
- Proven experience in senior leadership or program management within a health‑care setting.
- Ability to mentor clinicians and build capacity across hospital, health‑center, and community contexts.
- Strong commitment to equitable, patient‑centered care in low‑resource environments.
