About the role
The Loss Prevention Investigator protects Holt Renfrew’s assets by preventing fraud, shoplifting and internal loss. Working on the sales floor and behind the scenes, you will observe, intervene and investigate to safeguard the company’s financial and reputational interests.
Key responsibilities
- Patrol the sales floor to identify dishonest behavior by customers and staff.
- Monitor and dispatch responses using the CCTV system.
- Apprehend shoplifters, maintain detailed records, and testify in criminal proceedings when required.
- Conduct periodic POS audits and internal investigations with strict confidentiality.
- Analyze transaction reports, correct paperwork errors, and support inventory counts.
- Assist Operations and Sales teams with shortage programs and unsaleable items.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure proper follow‑up reporting.
- Support audit processes to ensure compliance with health, safety, privacy and cyber‑security policies.
Required profile
- College degree.
- 2–3 years of experience in a similar loss‑prevention or security role, preferably in retail.
- Training in kinesic interview techniques or other interrogation methods.
- Standard First Aid and CPR OPA Level II certification.
- Provincial guard licence.
- Full bilingual proficiency in French and English.
