Lead Software Architect

About the role

Mastercard Dynamic Yield is seeking a Lead Software Architect to define and own the end‑to‑end architecture of large‑scale, cloud‑native platforms. The role combines deep technical expertise with hands‑on leadership, focusing on building and operating agentic GenAI systems in production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, evolve, and maintain architecture for distributed, cloud‑native platforms on AWS.
• Act as the technical focal point across multiple engineering teams, driving alignment without direct authority.
• Partner with Product to shape long‑term roadmaps and embed technical perspective into strategic planning.
• Break down complex problems into clear system components, interfaces, and data contracts.
• Establish best practices for API design, versioning, and data contracts.
• Design, build, and operate agentic GenAI systems, including orchestration, state management, and cost control.
• Define production‑grade AI practices such as observability, evaluation, reliability, and safety.
• Lead architectural reviews, technical decision‑making, and trade‑off discussions.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including architecture‑focused roles.
• Proven track record designing and operating large‑scale distributed systems in production.
• Strong, hands‑on experience with AWS and cloud‑native architectures.
• Deep knowledge of microservices, APIs, event‑driven and asynchronous systems.
