Laundry Manager (Shipboard)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Laundry Manager to oversee the daily operations of the laundry facility aboard a cruise ship. Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, you will ensure that all linen, guest garments and uniform items are cleaned, pressed, and delivered to the appropriate areas with the highest quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the day‑to‑day operation of the shipboard laundry, including washing, ironing, dry‑cleaning and storage.
• Ensure all laundry equipment is fully operational, coordinate repairs with the Executive Housekeeper and First Engineer, and conduct daily inspections of dryers and other machines.
• Coordinate with all ship divisions to sort linen correctly, manage sorting schedules, and guarantee timely distribution to cabins, restaurants, spa, pool, and cruise‑theater areas.
• Maintain quality controls at each stage, verify finished products, and enforce proper lint and temperature checks.
• Manage chemical supplies, submit requisitions, and work within the established budget.
• Liaise with the Ecolab representative to calibrate machines and set appropriate formulas and cycles for different fabrics and soil levels.
• Oversee cleaning of crew uniforms, ensure non‑logo items are processed correctly, and direct all problem resolutions to the Executive Housekeeper.
• Prepare and submit daily inspection reports to the Executive Housekeeper and Senior Deck Supervisor.

Required profile

• Technical proficiency with laundry machinery and chemical handling.
• Strong judgment to assess methods, procedures and corrective actions.
• Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and apply common sense in problem‑solving.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with multiple ship departments and external vendors.
• Experience in a hospitality or cruise‑ship environment is preferred.
