International Road Maintenance Specialist

About the role

Surbanajurong is seeking an International Road Maintenance Specialist to lead the assessment and improvement of road, bridge and jetty maintenance practices in Fiji. The role focuses on developing performance‑based contracts that enhance infrastructure sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current maintenance and renewal practices for roads, bridges and jetties in Fiji.
• Identify needs and gaps in existing contracts and maintenance regimes.
• Prepare and propose improved, performance‑based maintenance and renewal contracts.
• Support the implementation of new contracting modalities for infrastructure projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in maintenance and renewal contracting, preferably in Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
• Fluent English with strong report‑writing abilities.
• Master’s degree or higher in civil engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience preparing and implementing performance‑based contracts for road maintenance.
