International Road Maintenance Specialist (Fiji)

About the role

The International Road Maintenance Specialist will lead the assessment and improvement of maintenance and renewal practices for roads, bridges, and jetties across Fiji. This senior position involves designing and managing performance‑based contracts to ensure sustainable infrastructure outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current road, bridge and jetty maintenance and renewal practices.
• Develop enhanced maintenance and renewal contracts aligned with best practices.
• Prepare and implement performance‑based contracting modalities.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure contract compliance and effectiveness.
• Produce detailed technical reports and recommendations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in road maintenance and renewal contracting.
• Experience working in small island developing states (SIDS) is preferred.
• Fluent English communication and strong report‑writing skills.
