HVAC Maintenance Technician

About the role

Perform routine and preventative maintenance of HVAC systems across the Saint Louis University campus, responding to service requests from faculty, staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to service calls and emergency requests, prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
• Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and minor installations of heating, cooling and ventilation equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on air handlers, rooftop units (RTUs), fan coil units, exhaust systems and VAV boxes.
• Support operation and maintenance of commercial boilers and chillers.
• Monitor and adjust building automation system (BAS) settings and maintain equipment logs.
• Assist with general building maintenance tasks such as basic carpentry, painting, light plumbing and electrical work.
• Provide event setup support as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class E driver’s license.
• Availability for 24/7 emergency response and overtime.
• Two years of facilities maintenance experience, specifically with HVAC systems.

Required skills

• HVAC system maintenance and repair.
• Air handler, RTU, fan coil, exhaust system and VAV box servicing.
• Commercial boiler and chiller operation.
• Building automation system (BAS) monitoring.
• Basic carpentry, painting, light plumbing and electrical troubleshooting.
