About the role
The Head Sommelier leads the wine program at One&Only Le Saint Géran, ensuring an exceptional wine experience for guests across all dining venues. This senior position oversees selection, procurement, storage, and service of wines, while driving sales and maintaining the resort’s high standards of hospitality.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, curate and continuously update award‑winning wine lists for all outlets, villas and special events.
- Manage wine inventory, storage conditions, and conduct regular stock audits.
- Negotiate purchases with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and quality.
- Oversee wine service during guest interactions, ensuring personalized recommendations and flawless execution.
- Coordinate wine dinners, tastings and promotional events.
- Monitor daily sales reports, control costs and minimize waste.
- Train, mentor and develop the wine service team, fostering a culture of excellence.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a senior sommelier or wine director role within luxury hospitality.
- Strong knowledge of global wine regions, vintages and trends.
- Excellent communication and guest‑service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak seasons and high‑profile events.
