Event and Marketing Officer

About the role

The Event and Marketing Officer will help expand Greenpeace Africa’s visibility and fundraising impact across Mauritius by securing high‑traffic kiosk locations and building partnerships with shopping malls and commercial venues. You will work closely with fundraising teams to ensure they have access to strategic sites where they can engage potential supporters.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and scout high‑traffic venues suitable for fundraising activities, conduct site visits and assess visibility, accessibility and audience potential.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date database of venues and partnership opportunities, and explore new locations to broaden Greenpeace’s presence.
• Build and nurture relationships with mall management and venue partners, negotiate kiosk space agreements and obtain necessary approvals.
• Coordinate kiosk schedules with fundraising teams, provide venue information and operational support, and monitor location performance.
• Resolve on‑site issues promptly, maintain accurate records of partnerships, and submit regular updates on venue opportunities and performance.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Strong negotiation and organisational skills, with the capacity to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Good knowledge of the Mauritian commercial landscape and a valid driving licence with reliable transport.
• Proficiency in English and French; Creole is an advantage.
• Passion for environmental protection and alignment with Greenpeace Africa’s mission.
