Ethics and Compliance Coordinator

About the role

The Ethics and Compliance Coordinator supports the Country Director in strengthening internal controls, promoting ethical conduct, and ensuring compliance with IRC policies, procedures, and donor regulations across the South Sudan program. The role helps build a culture of integrity and accountability while serving as the main liaison with IRC’s global Ethics and Compliance Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of IRC’s compliance and risk management framework across programs and operations.
• Facilitate periodic compliance reviews to assess adherence to IRC policies, donor regulations, and internal procedures.
• Conduct compliance assessments of implementing partners and sub‑grantees, ensuring robust internal controls.
• Produce consolidated reports from compliance reviews and provide practical recommendations.
• Monitor and track follow‑up actions related to audit findings and risk mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, Partnerships, and Program teams to strengthen internal control systems.
• Coordinate with the global Ethics and Compliance Unit and support investigations as required.

Required profile

• Solutions‑driven professional with a passion for ethical standards and humanitarian impact.
• Experience supporting senior leadership in compliance, risk management, or internal audit functions.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality and objectivity.
• Strong communication skills for training staff and partners on compliance standards.
