Electrician Journeyman Lead (Tier 2)

About the role

Fluor is seeking a skilled Electrician Journeyman Lead (Tier 2) to plan, install, and maintain electrical systems on construction projects. The role involves supervising a crew, ensuring compliance with codes, and delivering high‑quality workmanship.

Key responsibilities

• Plan layouts, install, and repair wiring, fixtures, and control equipment according to codes and specifications.
• Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to position concealed wiring before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install conduit; pull wiring through conduit with assistance.
• Splice wires, connect lighting and power equipment, and install switches, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels.
• Connect power cables and ground leads to motors, HVAC units, and other equipment.
• Test circuit continuity and safety using ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other instruments.
• Observe installed systems for hazards, make adjustments, and repair faulty equipment as needed.
• Provide supervision for a specific crew and may supply data to Automated Information Systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, or comparable education/experience.
• Four to seven years of related electrical experience.
• Journeyman‑level certification, license, or degree accepted by industry standards.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand technical documents and safety requirements.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring and conduit installation.
• Use of hand and power tools for electrical work.
• Electrical testing with ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and related instruments.
• Installation of switches, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels.
• Connection of power cables to motors, HVAC units, and other equipment.
