Educational Advisor II – TRIO Upward Bound Programs

About the role

The Educational Advisor II serves as the primary liaison between Saint Louis University, McCluer North public school district partners, program participants, parents, and community stakeholders for the TRIO Upward Bound programs. The role involves visiting partner schools, managing daily program operations, maintaining accurate records, and preparing required federal and university reports.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and direct all facets of the Upward Bound Program and Student Support Services in compliance with U.S. Department of Education guidelines.
• Maintain program records, track expenditures, and ensure financial documentation meets federal standards.
• Interview eligible students, collect data, and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Prepare federal reports, continuation proposals, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate with university representatives, federal officials, school administrators, and community agencies.
• Attend meetings with the U.S. Department of Education Office as requested by university leadership.
• Document progress toward funded objectives and represent the program at on‑ and off‑campus meetings.

Required profile

• Experience managing federally funded education programs or similar initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Department of Education TRIO program guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with university staff, school districts, students, families, and community partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentations.
• Organizational skills to monitor budgets, schedules, and compliance requirements.
