Content Manager – African Food Heritage Documentation

About the role

As the Content Manager for African Food Network, you will own the platform that documents and preserves Africa’s rich culinary heritage. This role focuses on building a comprehensive recipe archive, managing a network of contributors, and delivering high‑quality editorial content that showcases the continent’s diverse food culture.

Key responsibilities

• Research, write, and publish original recipe content covering the full breadth of African cuisine.
• Maintain and grow the AFN recipe archive, ensuring accuracy, cultural authenticity, and readability.
• Develop and manage the chef and restaurant directories on the platform.
• Recruit, onboard, and support contributors (chefs, home cooks, food writers) across Nigeria and the continent.
• Oversee quality‑control workflows for all public recipe submissions.
• Plan and execute the website content calendar, producing SEO‑optimized editorial pieces.
• Utilise research tools, AI writing assistants, and editorial judgement to generate content at scale while preserving cultural integrity.

Required profile

• Strong research abilities and disciplined writing skills.
• Passion for African food culture and heritage documentation.
• Experience in content architecture rather than social‑media management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse contributor community.
