About the role
Massey University is seeking a Communications Advisor to join its Communications Team on either the Wellington or Auckland campus. You will create engaging content for staff, students and media, ensuring audiences are at the heart of every communication.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver content across a broad range of channels, including internal and external communications.
- Support the Communications Manager and Associate Director with strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with university staff to gather input, align messaging and present complex information clearly.
- Manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and maintain high editorial standards.
Required profile
- Relevant qualification and/or experience in public relations, communications or journalism.
- At least three years of proven experience in public relations, communications or journalism.
- Strong writing, editing and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a motivated team and gain respect across the university.
- Experience in te ao Māori is an advantage.

- Grade 6 salary band: $71,274 – $101,329 per year (based on experience).
