Caseworker Assistant Intern (Humanitarian)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a motivated Caseworker Assistant Intern to support the Unaccompanied Children Crises Assistance Program (UCCAP). You will work directly with the Program Officer/Senior Caseworker to provide essential services to immigrant children and youth, helping them access community resources and achieve greater self‑sufficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the senior caseworker with client support services, including case note management and file organization.
• Research and compile information on local community resources and assets.
• Conduct outreach to local organizations to establish partnerships and expand service networks.
• Perform administrative duties such as data entry, reporting, and maintaining accurate client records.
• Communicate case statuses and client concerns to the supervisor and help coordinate service plans.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
• Interest in international humanitarian issues and multicultural environments.
• Must pass a background check and be at least 18 years old.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy, preferably with PC systems.
