Business System Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Business System Analyst with a strong technical background and deep knowledge of liner shipping applications. The role bridges business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure effective use, continuous improvement, and smooth operation of systems that support documentation, bookings, schedules, cargo operations, and integrations across the shipping value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business users (documentation, operations, customer service, sales) to gather, analyse, and translate requirements into functional specifications.
• Provide day‑to‑day support for shipping applications, investigating issues, performing root‑cause analysis, and coordinating resolutions.
• Analyse and optimise existing business processes and system workflows related to liner shipping operations.
• Liaise with vendors and internal IT teams to manage enhancements, bug fixes, and change requests.
• Participate in system implementations, upgrades, integrations, UAT testing, and training activities.
• Develop and maintain business process documentation, user guides, and training materials.
• Monitor application performance, suggest improvements, and support upgrades or ERP transformations.
• Lead project coordination from planning through implementation, including scope definition, scheduling, and stakeholder consensus.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Logistics or a related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in application/business systems analysis, with at least 3 years in liner shipping systems (e.g., Solverminds, CargoWise, in‑house ERP, legacy terminal systems).
• Strong knowledge of shipping workflows such as booking, bill of lading, documentation, and cargo operations.

Required skills

• SQL for data interrogation and troubleshooting.
• Experience with shipping software platforms such as Solverminds and CargoWise.
• Proficiency in ERP and legacy terminal system integration.
• UAT testing and interface log analysis.
• Data analysis and reporting.
