About the role
The Budget / Accounting Assistant will support the Finance, Contract and Audit (FCA) section of the EU Delegation in Abuja. Working under the Head of Section, the assistant provides expertise and assistance in the contractual and financial management of EU‑funded projects and programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to sound financial management and ensure legality and regularity of transactions.
- Support tender procedures, calls for proposals, contract drafting and administration.
- Process payments, recoveries and follow‑up audit matters.
- Advise operational sections, beneficiaries and contractors on contractual, financial and audit issues.
- Prepare financial reports and documentation required for EU funding compliance.
Required profile
- Experience in budgeting, accounting or financial management, preferably in a public‑sector or international environment.
- Familiarity with EU funding rules, tender processes and contract administration.
- Ability to work under supervision, adapt to changing delegation needs and handle occasional atypical working hours.
