Back End Engineer – AI‑Driven Solutions

About the role

RedMart, the online grocery arm of Southeast Asia’s leading e‑commerce platform, is looking for a passionate Back End Engineer to design and build cloud‑native, AI‑powered services that power its logistics and fulfillment ecosystem. You will work on Java‑based solutions that turn raw data into intelligent actions, helping the company deliver a predictive and adaptive user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop and deploy AI agents and intelligent workflows that align with RedMart’s strategic goals.
• Deeply understand business logic and user pain points to create data‑driven backend solutions.
• Collaborate with global engineering, UX, QA and product teams in an agile, flat‑structure environment.
• Write clean, modular, testable Java code using design patterns for scalability and maintainability.
• Build robust data synchronization pipelines and leverage analytics for predictive modeling.
• Stay current with emerging backend and AI technologies, proposing enhancements to system architecture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional backend development experience with strong Java proficiency.
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML integration, preferably using Spring AI or LLMs in production.
• Proven ability to design highly available, distributed systems.
