Assistant Commercial Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager – Case North Island, you will support strategic and commercial decision‑making for OJI Fibre Solutions' Packaging Northern manufacturing site in Mangere Bridge, Auckland. This position blends financial analysis, cost‑control, and stakeholder management within a fast‑paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly, half‑yearly and annual financial and management reports, including variance analysis and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Own the implementation of the group strategic plan, cost‑reduction initiatives and performance‑improvement projects.
• Review and revise cost rates, conduct inventory audits, and assist with tender preparation.
• Support capital‑expenditure proposals with financial justifications.
• Maintain accounting standards, internal controls and compliance with group policies.
• Provide backup support to the Commercial Manager and contribute to a strong safety culture on‑site.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to build internal stakeholder relationships.
• Highly driven with solid leadership, time‑management and analytical capabilities.
• Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent; CA membership preferred.

• Advanced Excel
• Experience with ERP and MES systems (SAP advantageous)
