Assistant Buyer – Womenswear

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to support our Womenswear category at Holt Renfrew. You will work closely with senior buyers and planners to manage purchase orders, monitor sales performance, and help drive the seasonal buying strategy in a fast‑paced luxury retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor sales and margin performance, interpret variances against budget and forecast.
• Create and track purchase orders, manage open‑to‑buy reporting and order confirmations.
• Follow up with vendors to resolve distribution issues and ensure compliance with terms.
• Assist in forecast preparation, seasonal markdown sessions and pre‑market analysis.
• Support the development of financial plans with buyers and planners.
• Maintain sample inventory, coordinate trunk shows, special events and in‑store product knowledge sessions.
• Provide in‑season sales analysis for repeat orders, consolidations and RTVs.
• Collaborate with stores to manage allocations, repeat orders and product information.
• Track line budget performance and prepare presentations, media kits and event materials.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in retail buying, purchasing or related analysis.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and retail mathematics.
• Demonstrated leadership, influencing and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptable and able to work in a dynamic, fashion‑driven environment.
