Adjunct Sociology Faculty (Part‑time)

About the role

Saint Louis University’s Sociology Program is seeking qualified part‑time adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate sociology courses on an ongoing basis. The position involves delivering in‑person instruction for a minimum of 10 scheduled weekly hours.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Sociology: Diversity Emphasis and Introduction to Sociology: Diversity and Health Emphasis.
• Prepare and deliver lecture materials, facilitate classroom discussions, and assess student performance.
• Maintain office hours and provide academic support to students.
• Collaborate with full‑time faculty to align course content with program objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in sociology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience or relevant professional experience in sociology.
• Ability to engage a diverse undergraduate audience.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of sociological theories and research methods.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in classroom technology for in‑person instruction.
