About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Youth Services Specialist to lead its summer program for young people aged 13‑20. The role focuses on creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment that supports personal growth and aligns with IRC’s humanitarian mission.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and lead recreational, educational, and creative activities during the summer program.
- Develop activity schedules that promote learning, teamwork, and personal development.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere that fosters social skills, confidence, and leadership.
- Provide clear instructions, enforce safety protocols, and ensure all participants are supervised at all times.
- Assist with setup and teardown of materials and equipment.
- Report progress and feedback to the Education & Youth Services Manager.
- Support recruitment, training, and supervision of additional youth staff or volunteers.
- Participate in regular team meetings and handle any conflicts constructively.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (preferred).
- Experience working with youth in educational or recreational settings.
